I believe the best times are when you enjoy unplanned activities. I hope the time spent at Lake Shirakaba is filled with moments where visitors can say, "I'm glad I had this unexpected experience."

Keiro Shinohara

Lake Shirakaba, situated at the high elevation of 1,416 meters, originally functioned as a reservoir to warm agricultural water back in the Showa era. Over time, it transitioned into a popular boating destination as the area embraced tourism. For many, it became a cherished spot for school trips and a repository of memories from their youth. As people age, it offers solace and a sense of healing. The picturesque views here present a unique contrast to urban life. I envision the lake as a space for leisure for those who appreciate its beauty. I am eager to incorporate the perspectives of many individuals in shaping its future activities.

Besides the chilly winter, this is an excellent place to witness the changing seasons. Whether by the pier or alongside the lake, there is a relaxed atmosphere for everyone. I believe the best times involve embracing unplanned activities. I hope the time spent at Lake Shirakaba is filled with moments where visitors can say, "I'm glad I had this unexpected experience."

While destinations like Mt. Kurumayama, Mt. Kirigamine, and Utsukushigahara Highlands are outstanding, there is a nearby spot called Zeniiwa. It features a large rock associated with Takeda Shingen, and I occasionally find myself drawn there.

In the Kashiwabara area behind our home, we offer daycare and agricultural experiences for children, taking them to rivers and mountains.
