At Lake Shirakaba, you can truly experience nature through all four seasons. The resort-like atmosphere, reminiscent of the alpine regions of Europe, adds to its charm.
I chose to work here as an art college graduate, wanting to apply my curator qualifications. I love illustrating and I help designing the postcards and exhibitions.
You can explore the Teddy Bear Museum while taking pictures. It is the only place where you can photograph dioramas or create family memories with commemorative photos. Also, many visitors bring stuffed animals purchased here on their last visit or their cherished teddy bears to tour the museum.
The Lake Shirakaba area experiences four distinct seasons due to its high altitude, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature. The climate, similar to the cooler regions of Europe, creates a resort-like atmosphere.
My favorite season is... autumn! The dramatic temperature changes between morning and night result in vibrant foliage, and the daily variations in scenery are delightful. With frequent sunny days, the beautiful contrast between the blue sky and red foliage is simply stunning. Taking a leisurely stroll while feeling the gentle breeze is incredibly pleasant.
I recommend Jinnai Fishing Pond. The iwana tempura at the "Sanpo" restaurant is exquisite!
