In my personal opinion, June is when Lake Shirakaba is at its most enchanting. The white birch trees burst with fresh greenery, and the azaleas begin to bloom. The combination of the white birch trees and the orange azaleas is simply breathtaking.
The name "Kimimachi-so" was given by the previous owner, inspired by the 1950s TV show "Kimino-na-wa (Your Name)." The theme of the show seemed to revolve around "meetings with others."
Our guests encompass a diverse range of individuals, from families and couples to various age groups. Lately, we have a lot of solo travelers aw well. During autumn, photography enthusiasts often gather with friends, venturing out early in the morning to capture the scenery. If you are lucky, you might even get to see a stunning sea of clouds.
Personally, I find Lake Shirakaba most beautiful around June. The white birch trees come alive with fresh greenery, and the azaleas begin to bloom. Azaleas bloom along the shores of Lake Shirakaba, spanning from Mount Kurumayama to Mount Kirigamine. Despite coinciding with the rainy season, the harmonious blend of white birch trees and the orange hues of azaleas is truly captivating. Taking a drive or cycling along the Venus Line during this time is a delightful experience.
The lakeside is an idyllic setting for a leisurely stroll. Living near Lake Shirakaba, one might take its beauty for granted (laughs). Occasionally, I take a 40-50 minute walk around the 3.8-kilometer lakeside path, which feels great especially on sunny days. Winters may be chilly, but the sight of rime and frost-covered trees are exceptionally beautiful.
As the closest inn to the lake, we invite you to visit and immerse yourself in the surrounding scenery.
