We provide paragliding experiences at Lake Shirakaba. I got hooked on paragliding after falling in love with the delightful sensation of floating.
On our available course, you will soar distances of 2 to 30 meters, gliding down the gentle, open slopes. The thrill lies in relishing the floating sensation repeatedly.

When flying solo, I often find myself watching the birds. Black kites, goshawks, and Hodgson's hawk eagles grace this area. I jokingly refer to them as my teachers (laughs). When I fly solo, I seek updrafts, harness the wind, and gracefully cruise through the sky. Occasionally, I challenge myself by following the air currents that birds ride, but I admit, I am not as adept as they are.
Sometimes, while riding the currents, the birds join in. During those moments, we share a gaze and soar while maintaining a respectful distance. It feels like a genuine connection with the birds.

Opportunities to experience paragliding in a place as scenic as Lake Shirakaba are indeed rare.I cherish every season here at Lake Shirakaba. In spring, the mountains retain a dusting of snow, and in summer, the cool breeze and lush meadows resemble overseas landscapes. Autumn showcases the beauty of Japanese pampas grass and the larch forest behind the lake. Experiencing the autumn leaves from the sky is a breathtaking sight.

Here, the beauty of the experience is having the sky all to yourself rather than sharing it with others.
As paragliding requires a license, akin to diving, advancing in grade allows you to reach higher altitudes and greater distances. In this region, some even paraglide from one mountain to the next!
Although the range for the activity here is limited, we would be delighted to see more people develop an interest in paragliding and find enjoyment after their initial casual experience here.
