Shirakaba Resort Camping Village
In April 2022, the Shirakaba Resort Auto Campground underwent renovations and reopened its doors. Among the 28 available sites, 12 have been upgraded into premium spots featuring artificial turf. Our aim is to offer a more comfortable and enjoyable outdoor experience than ever before. Whether you are a dedicated mountain climber seeking a convenient location, a motorcycle enthusiast exploring the scenic Venus Line and in search of a tranquil spot, or a family embarking on their first outdoor adventure, our camping village is designed to cater to various scenarios.

I often jog around the lakeside area after work. Even if I am tired, I get this sudden urge to go for a run. There are moments when I head back to the employee dorm, change into my workout gear, but there are also times when I just go as I am—running in my work clothes (laughs).
The Camping Village has undergone further improvements to enhance usability and has reopened, providing a comfortable experience for families with young children, group workshops, and more. We have introduced a new 'Outdoor Base' with central facilities, offering indoor washing areas, clean toilets, washbasins, and multipurpose spaces. In times of disaster, it can also serve as an evacuation center. Additionally, campers now have complimentary access to the hotel's hot spring facilities.
We have also partially renovated the auto camping area, such as opening the new 'Cool Turf,' a cooling artificial turf. This turf lowers the surface temperature, ensuring a safe and carefree play environment for children. We hope our visitors can create enjoyable memories here and will be eager to return.
I began my career at Ikenotaira Hotel, hoping for a customer service role where I could interact with people of all ages and bring joy to them. I found this place appealing because it attracts visitors of all age groups, from small children to the elderly.
Although my hometown was initially around Lake Suwa, I now live in the employee dorm near Lake Shirakaba. Before I started working, I used to love Tateishi Park, a well-known park in Suwa. However, since arriving here, my fondness has shifted to the area around Lake Shirakaba. From the pleasant season around June, I stroll around the lakeside or go for a run after work. Even when I am tired, I often feel the sudden urge to go. Sometimes, I return to the employee dorm, change into my workout gear, but there are times when I just go as is—running, still in my work clothes (laughs).
Although there may not be much around, the lake's presence is what makes it significant and genuinely relaxing. Initially, I thought it was small compared to Lake Suwa, where I was accustomed, but now, I like the convenient size of the lake, which you can easily walk all the way around, and the charming shops along the way. I love the days when I run with just some change in my pocket, then enjoy a bath in Suzuran-no-Yu, and then take a nice walk back home.
While this Camping Village area is seasonal, I hope it becomes a comforting place for everyone, whether you come alone, as a couple, with your family, or even as older individuals. I hope visitors experience nature and contemplate the possibility of living in such a location, even though it may not have much. You know, waking up to the sound of birds is the best!
